Sr. Network Engineer (Rockville, MD)
The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and documenting large scale wireless networks (including 802.11 wireless environments) and supporting infrastructure. In this role, you will conduct and document detailed wireless site surveys, troubleshoot network connectivity issues and outages in a wired (802.3) and wireless (802.11) TCP/IP network. Additionally, the Sr. Network Engineer will identify and recommend mitigation strategies for network threats and risks. The Sr. Network Engineer will create and maintain configuration documentation for networks and must be able to lead and execute projects with minimal supervision. Local travel (MD, DC, VA area) and out of state travel is required; minimum of 35% out of the year (100% reimbursed) to support customer requirements.
To qualify for this position you must have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems Management, or 8 years directly related equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years directly related experience (with BS in IT or IT-related field). Additionally, a CCNA or CCNP certification, or equivalent experience supporting Cisco and/or Juniper managed switches, routers, and/or firewalls is preferred. Two to five years of experience in designing, implementing, and administering infrastructures for business solutions based on Microsoft 2003 Windows Server and other Windows server platforms. Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, servers and workstations. . Experience in designing, documenting and the installation of large scale wireless networks and supporting infrastructure. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Excellent written and communication skills. Must be a U.S. citizen and currently hold a DoD clearance (meet minimum of IT2 level requirements) or attain an Interim clearance within 30 days of employment. Ability to lift 50 lbs and ability to work outside and climb ladders.
