Building Automation Specialist (Rockville, MD)
The Building Automation Specialist will be responsible for anayzing, designing and configuring building control systems as defined by the project specification or scope of work. In this role, you will specify and design building control systems in conjunction with consultants and/or architect engineers at the design phase and act as the technical consultant on complex design problems. The Building Automation Specialist will lead engineering teams on large, complex building control projects. This position may be required to visit job sites to review job scope and effectively gather information on existing system configuration or facility configurations. The Building Automation Specialist will prepare and oversee the preparation layout and installation drawings, specifications, and manufacturer cut-sheets. This positon is accountable to the field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs. You will participate in engineering release meetings with the project field team and perform value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
To qualify for this position you must have HVAC and process industry knowledge, along with demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems. Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers; establish and maintain relations and relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. IT Networking skills a plus. Must be able to attain and hold a DOD clearance. A Technical certification in HVAC, Industrial Control Systems, Niagra Framework, Building Controls, SCADA Controls is preferred; BA/BS degree is a plus.
